Workshop Registration & Payment
Payment is due at the time of registration. Your space in the workshop is not secured until we receive payment.
Workshops are nonrefundable, nontransferable and nonexchangeable.
If you cannot attend, please send a friend in your place OR we will provide you with your class supplies where applicable. If The Bead Gallery cancels a class, we will refund you right away.
Requirements, Supplies, and Tools
Supplies not included in your workshop will be selected in class and must be purchased at The Bead Gallery. You will also be charged for any upgrades, lost or damaged items, and additional supplies.
Please bring the required tools. Sharing or borrowing tools from your neighbors slows the whole class down. Students without the required tools will be asked to purchase tools BEFORE entering class. Basic chain, round, and flat nose pliers are available for rent.
You may want to bring a notebook, pen, light, or optical aid.
Tardiness and Courtesies
Lateness slows the pace for everyone so please show up on time.
Please, no children, guests, food, or cell phones in class.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is my payment for a class due?
A: Payment is due at the time of registration. Please be sure that you can attend a workshop BEFORE signing up for it, as classes are NOT refundable, NOT transferable, and NOT exchangeable.
Q: What do I need to bring to my class?
A: All of our beginner workshops include the use of our tools – so you will not need to bring anything to class. Visual aids (reading glasses, magnifiers, etc.), as well as notebooks and pens, are highly recommended for all workshops. If you are required to bring your own equipment to class, we will let you know at registration.
Q: I have so many beads at home – can I just bring my own supplies to the workshop?
A: You may not bring your own supplies to our workshops. A portion of each workshop is devoted to discussing bead selection and design; so all materials must be selected during class with the teacher's assistance. However, we are always happy to help you design additional projects with your beads during regular store hours.
Q: I dropped/broke a bead in class – do I need to pay for it?
A: You will be responsible for any item that is lost or damaged in class, so please bead carefully!
Q: How soon do I need to sign up in order to get into the workshop?
A: As soon as you are ready! Our class sizes are limited
to 4–6 students, and while that ensures that we can provide personal
attention to each individual, it also means that classes sometimes fill
very quickly.
Q: What does the price listed with the workshop include?
A: Unless specifically noted, the price includes materials, use of tools in the basic classes, and the teacher! If there are tool requirements, you will need to bring or buy those tools before class.
Q: I'm interested in a certain workshop, but I'm not sure if I'm experienced enough to take it!
A: Many of our classes are beginning level, meaning
you don't have to have any prior experience or tools to take them.
For our intermediate and advanced classes, please check the requirements.
If you have the required skills and tools, you should be fine. If you
have any questions, email,
stop by the store or call us at 589-2600.
Q: I want to take an intermediate class and have some jewelry experience, but I didn't take the prerequisite class at The Bead Gallery. Do I still qualify?
A: As a general rule, we require that students take prerequisite classes such as Basic Wire Wrap and Beadweaving at The Bead Gallery. There is no right or wrong way to bead, but in the past, students who had learned these techniques a different way often had difficulty in class. If you believe that your technique is consistent with the way we teach, call or stop by the store and your teacher can make a recommendation as to whether or not you can take their class.
Q: What if I have signed up for a class and I cannot attend?
A: Please check your schedule prior to signing up for class as our workshops, like concert or movie tickets, are non–refundable, non–transferrable, and non–exchangeable. If you cannot come, you may send someone else to take your place OR you may pick up your class supplies.
Q: What are Bead Treats?
A: Bead Treats are FREE hour–long mini–classes which focus on cute projects that are quick and easy to do! For beaders of all levels, they're a fun chance to learn a new skill and an opportunity to get excited about beading again! Though the class is free, we recommend that you sign up beforehand as these sessions often fill. A $10 deposit secures your seat and will be credited toward any purchases you make that day.
Q: Can you tell me about custom classes and other options I have if I can't make the class date on the schedule?
A: Of course! See this page for more information! We also have a lot of great projects in our Online Store that you can do right from your home!
